There is no study PROVING that there is nothing beneficial about an older child breastfeeding, just like there is not study proving it is. That's my point. I agree with you, it's her business to breastfeed and how long. It is up to none of us to judge her, especially since nobody else on here who was actually curious or interested bothered to look her up before they made assanine comments.

I agreee that their are properties in breastmilk such as the mother's immunoglubulins when the infant is small. At eight years old, there is nothing beneficial. If she wants to breastfeed, let it be.

There are no absolutes, obviously. Of course there will be bottle fed kids who do well, same as breastfed kids who do poorly. Statistically, for many factors, breastfed children have a greater start. Although Hannah's wording may have been harsh, one thing is true, it's not about them "eating the same thing." There are properties in breastmilk that make it beneficial. How long is up for debate.

Thank you. I will do a video response to prove that whoever said this increases a child's IQ is wrong. My son exceeded expectations in everything. I will show his work and report card. Now, if it would improve his behavior at home, I would breastfeed until he was 18!

Thanks for commenting rationally. I would agree with someone in their 70's and 80's that have experience. My maternal grandmother had thirteen children. My mother and she are both dead. So, I don't know how old the children were when they stopped breastfeeding.

No, it makes absolutely no logical sense. As a baby and toddler, yes. Eight years old, no. You don't know my IQ and you don't have to be ignorant. I will do a video response on my son's report card and show everyone that one doesn't have to breastfeed to have an intelligent child. He exceeds expectations in every subject. Just watch!
